| Varsity Coach Marissa Hewitt |
Our staff:
Varsity Coach Marissa Hewitt, a native of New Haven, CT, began
playing lacrosse in middle school. At Hamden Hall CDS, she was a two-sport Varsity athlete in soccer and
lacrosse. In addition to being voted captain of her high school team in her sophomore year, Marissa received
numerous awards including three All-League nominations, and a selection to the “Super Juniors” all-star game.
She beat out over 250 players for a spot on the 1999 New England National Team squad and a trip to Ohio to play in
the National School Girls Lacrosse Tournament. Marissa was also nominated by the CT chapter of the Women’s
Sports Federation as an Outstanding Student-Athlete. She continued her career at the Division I level at
Brown University though she traded her spot on the roster for an opportunity to study abroad her junior year. Marissa,
a member of the Positive Coaches Alliance, has volunteered and coached for numerous youth soccer and lacrosse teams, and brings
years of playing and coaching experience with her to Palos Verdes High School. She joined the PV staff in 2005
as the Girls Lacrosse Coach along with Carla Racioppi and Assistant Coach Shannon Russell. She is thrilled
to be involved with lacrosse again, and hopes to continue to build up the lacrosse program at PVHS, as well as promote the
sport in the area. In addition to coaching
the Palos Verdes Girls Lacrosse team, Marissa is currently the owner of Fact Education, a tutoring company located in the
South Bay. She can be emailed at pvgirlslacrosse@yahoo.com.
